Sweet Honey Cornbread

 

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Sue Bee® Honey
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  • Heat oven to 400 F.
  • Grease an 8×8 baking pan
  • Beat milk, butter and egg in a large blow.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients (except honey), batter will be lumpy.
  • Pour batter into pan.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven and immediately spread Sue Bee® honey on top
  • Cool and serve.
