Salted Honey Caramel Popcorn
This salty sweet popcorn is a treat the whole family will love. And it’s easy to make.
5 quarts popped popcorn
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Sue Bee honey
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of sea salt or cyprus flake salt
Heat over to 250 degrees.
Place pre-popped popcorn in large roaster or large bowls.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and add brown sugar and honey, stirring well.
Bring to a gentle boil and then lower temperature to simmer and cook/stir for about 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat and stir in the baking soda and vanilla. It will foam up a bit, but that’s OK, just stir it back down.
Working quickly, immediately pour over popped popcorn and stir well to coat popcorn evenly.
Spread on cookie sheets or parchment paper and place in oven.
Cook for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to evenly bake.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with sea salt or cyprus flake salt.
Let cool and enjoy!
