Sweet Honey Cornbread
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Heat oven to 400 F.
- Grease an 8×8 baking pan
- Beat milk, butter and egg in a large blow.
- Stir in remaining ingredients (except honey), batter will be lumpy.
- Pour batter into pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and immediately spread Sue Bee® honey on top
- Cool and serve.
