Pecan Pie Bars With Shortbread Crust
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 3/4 cup cold butter
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons whipping cream
Directions
- Set oven to 350 F, set oven rack to second-lowest position.
- Butter a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- In a processor blend all ingredients until mixture begins to form small clumps.
- Sprinkle the mixture into prepared baking pan.
- Lightly press the mixture down with a spatula (do not pat down too much).
- Bake in the second-lowest oven rack for 20 minutes until golden.
- Meanwhile prepare the filling/topping: In a heavy saucepan melt butter and stir in brown sugar, honey and whipping cream; simmer mixture for about 1 minute, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in chopped pecans.
- Pour the pecan mixture over hot shortbread crust and spread evenly in the pan.
- Bake on the second-lowest oven rack for about 20-22 minutes.
- Cool completely in the pan. These bars will cut better if refrigerated.
Oatmeal Blueberry Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/8 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 1 cup flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup blueberries
Directions
- Mix dry ingredients together and set aside.
- Cream butter and sugars.
- Add egg and Sue Bee® honey, mix well.
- Stir in dry ingredients. Stir in blueberries.
- Drop by rounded teaspoons on parchment lined cookie sheets.
- Bake at 350 for about 8-10 minutes, until golden on the edges and just set.
- Cook them too long and they will be hard and they are better chewy.
- Cool on racks, store airtight.
The Everything Cookie
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup nuts
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup kamut flour
- 1/2 cup oat bran
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup powdered milk
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- Mix the Sue Bee® honey, mashed bananas, eggs, molasses, pumpkin, and peanut butter in a bowl.
- Add the dry ingredients and mix them well.
- If it is too stiff, add a little water.
- Add the chocolate chips, raisins, and nuts and mix well.
- If is is too stiff, add a little water.
- Drop onto a cookie sheet you have sprayed with cooking spray and bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
Honey Ambrosia
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 4 medium oranges
- 1 medium banana
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 cup flaked coconut
Directions
- Gently combine orange slices and banana slices.
- Combine the orange juice with Sue Bee® honey and lemon juice; pour over fruit.
- Sprinkle with coconut.
Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 1 1/2 cups finely chopped yellow onions
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 3/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup cider vinegar
- 2 (4 ounce) cans tomato paste
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
Directions
- In a large saucepan on low heat, saute the onions and garlic with the vegetable oil for 10 to 15 minutes, until the onions are translucent but not browned.
- Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a low boil.
- Simmer uncovered on low heat for 30 minutes. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator.
Honey Baked Ham
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 1/2 (7 lb) spiral cut smoked ham
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 F.
- Place ham, cut end down, in a large baking pan.
- Bake ham for 15 minutes basting frequently with orange juice.
- Mix brown sugar and Sue Bee® honey together in a small bowl.
- Brush mixture over ham and bake for another hour or until internal temperature reads 140 F.
- Honey Baked Ham corporation uses a butane torch to caramelize the glaze to a crust.
- The ham is placed on top of a huge metal drum covered with foil and caramelized.
Curry Chicken
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 4-6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Heat Sue Bee® honey, butter, Dijon mustard and curry together in a pan.
- Place chicken in a baking dish and pour sauce over chicken.
- Bake for 50-55 mins.
Sweet Chicken Skewers With a Peanut Dip
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 1/3 cup hot apple juice
- 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast
Directions
- Whisk all the ingredients but the chicken together.
- Place chicken in a ziplock bag add just enough marinade to coat the chicken and chill for 1 hour.
- Chill rest of sauce for dipping.
- Skewer chicken in a ribbon method onto soaked skewers.
- Grill on a well seasoned grill over med-high heat for about 7 minutes. Basting with the chicken marinade.
- Serve with chilled dip and fresh sliced cucumbers!
Korean Roast Chicken Thighs
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 8 chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup minced green onion
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 F.
- Place chicken skin side down in a large baking dish.
- Combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl and then pour on top of the chicken.
- Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
- Turn the chicken over in the dish and bake for another 15 minutes.
Ginger Noodles
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 8 ounces thin spaghetti
- 4 green onions
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
- 1 to 2 tablespoons freshly grated gingerroot
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon chili paste
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Directions
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain.
- In a small bowl, whisk together all remaining ingredients.
- Place hot cooked spaghetti in a large bowl, add the sauce mixture and toss to coat.
- Serve warm.
Honey-Walnut Prawns
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 lb jumbo shrimp
- 2 cups oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
Directions
- Boil walnuts in 5 cups water for 10 minutes; drain.
- Place walnuts and 1/2 cup sugar into 2 pints of boiling water. Boil for another 10 minutes.
- Remove walnuts from water and coat with Sue Bee® honey.
- Heat 2 cups oil until almost smoking, then fry walnuts until they are shiny and brown, about 5-8 minutes.
- Remove and place on cookie sheet to cool.
- Mix cornstarch and egg whites together to form a thick, sticky mixture. Mix shrimp into this mixture and set aside.
- Mix mayonnaise, lemon juice and condensed milk in a medium bowl until smooth.
- Heat 1/2 cup oil and deep fry shrimp until golden.
- Drain shrimp and then fold into mayonnaise sauce.
Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 3 cups ketchup
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 teaspoons cider vinegar
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and cool completely.
- Refrigerate until ready to use.
Juicy Cornish Game Hens
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 2 Cornish hens
- salt and pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Melt butter and stir in Sue Bee® honey and chili powder; mix well.
- Stir in orange juice, salt and pepper and remove from heat.
- Cut each hen into two halves.
- Rinse well and pat dry with paper towels.
- Place hens in baking dish, skin side down, and place in oven for 6-8 minutes.
- Turn hens over and baste generously with all of the mixture.
- Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until well browned.
Peanut Butter Banana Wraps
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 1/2 cup reduced-fat creamy peanut butter
- 4 (8-10 inch) whole wheat tortillas
- 2 small bananas
- 1/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Spread 2 tablespoons of the peanut butter evenly over each tortilla.
- Drizzle 1 tablespoon of the Sue Bee® honey over each tortilla.
- Top with banana slices and chocolate chips.
- Roll up tortillas. Secure with toothpicks.
Blueberries and Melon With Honey Lime Dressing
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 lb honeydew melon
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
Directions
- Combine Sue Bee® honey and lime juice in a small bowl; mix thoroughly.
- Combine melon and blueberries in another bowl.
- Add dressing; gently toss and serve.
No-Bake Honey and Oat Peanut Butter Bars
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 3/4 cup chunky peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 3/4 cup powdered milk
- 1/4 cup sunflower seed
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
Directions
- Mix all ingredients, except chocolate chips, until well mixed (If too soft to work with: add a little more powdered milk and oats).
- Spread evenly on a cookie sheet.
- Sprinkle with chocolate chips or seeds.
- Cut into squares.
- Freeze for 20 minutes, then store in airtight container in the refrigerator.
Sesame Pork Stir Fry
Ingredients
- 1/8 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 lb pork loin
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/3 lb snow peas
Directions
- Add oil to a skillet.
- Brown the pork over high heat, lower heat add Sue Bee® honey, sesame seeds, soy sauce and ginger; mix well.
- Add snow peas cook for 2 minutes stirring.
- Serve with rice or noodles.
Great Fruit Salad
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 12 ounces pineapple juice
- 6 ounces orange juice concentrate
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- fresh fruit
Directions
- In saucepan, mix all EXCEPT fruit.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cook and stir 1-1/2 minutes, or until thick and bubbly.
- Cool; serve over fruit.
Island Honey Burgers
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 2 lbs ground Beef
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon curry powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 (23 ounce) can sliced pineapple
- lettuce leaf
- 8 hamburger buns
Directions
- In a bowl, combine the Sue Bee® honey, ground beef, nutmeg, ginger, curry powder, paprika and cinnamon; mix well.
- Shape into 8 patties.
- Grill the burgers, uncovered, over medium-hot heat for 3 minutes on each side.
- Brush with soy sauce.
- Continue grilling for 4-6 minutes or until juices run clear, basting several times.
- During the last 4 minutes, grill the pineapple slices until browned, turning once.
- Serve burgers and pineapple on buns with lettuce and condiments of your choice.
Mocha Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Sue Bee® Honey
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Directions
- In a small heavy saucepan, combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and slightly thickened. Cool.
